Project Planet Network

VISION
To create an environmental board represented by students, teachers, school staff and community.

MISSION
To expand awareness by educating and challenging young people to have a connected involvement with their environment and community through their choices and actions.

POSTER CONTEST

The objective of this action is to bring to awareness the cause and effect of the choice to build the Nuclear power plants in the US.  By addressing President Obama and local/state officials, the voice of the younger generation will be heard with great hope.

Project Planet Network™ "Poster Contest" is sponsored by MARCI™, a holistic and wellness magazine for the holistic community and holistic practitioners.  MARCI™ is an acronym for Mindfulness, Awareness, Responsibility, Compassion, and Intuition.

The purpose of this contest is to address the President and government officials by means of art work.  The art work will be an expression of the individuals concerns, fears, questions, and visions of alternate energy solutions to move us to a sustainable energy policy.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

QUESTION:

  1. Do you have children in the school system?

  2. Are you part of the SCA or PTA?

  3. Do you participate in any school functions?

  4. Do you have a desire to better "OUR" children's environment?

If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, then you are involved!

What's the next step?
Talk... talk...talk. Network.

-Ask questions. -Develop relationships. -Get to know the power players... the Principal, the president of the PTA, the school board members.

The Invitation-
-
Come to Project Planet meetings to discuss your concerns & be a part of a "Think Tank". Get involved. There are different ways this can happen:

*        Be a mentor for the group in your school district.

*        Orchestrate an age appropriate workshop to educate about environment.

*        Organize a fund raiser for the school by teaching kids how to recycle.

Resources are endless. Many states are already leading by example, "Why not New Jersey?" We don't have to "reinvent the wheel", but we can act NOW.

Awaken the minds by guiding, leading by example, & be pro active!

Help a school develop an environmental board....we have the tools.

Help the students make their own compost.

Green your schools!

Speak to your local councils.

√  Does your town or city have an environmental commission?

√  What can they do to get involved in their school district?

√  Are you willing to help, & mentor a group of students to come together from different schools & guide their discussions...

√  Develop a plan of action to bring back into their schools? This is a huge undertaking. The seed needs to be planted so our future generation will benefit from the fruits of our labor.

"Let us leave our children a legacy. Teach them to be keepers of this world & all living creatures that share in it's bounty."
-Marie Presti, Chair of Project Planet
